How to improve your video skills in less than 5 seconds

Based on many of the videos I see from friends or online from rookie video journalists that capture a significant or newsworthy event on their mobile device, the following advice is worth mentioning (and since I do this often it is a note to self as well). Consider rotating your mobile device to a landscape orientation when taking your next video. It’s 90 degrees of effort that will give a much better viewing experience later and will allow me to feel like I’ve provided a public service to your audience.
Although this practice is not universally applicable to every situation it is a good default habit (historically there was only one way to hold a video camera) as more times than not you’ll want your video to display in landscape. Consider B4 you capture.
